Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), one of the most vibrant stock exchanges in the region. It is the first bourse to introduce online and internet based trading system in Bangladesh. CSE has nation-wide data communication network over WAN backbone.

Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) invites application from highly qualified and committed professionals for the positions of Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), based in Dhaka.

The Roles
The DCEO shall assist the CEO to run, superintendent and effectuate the day-to-day operations, administration and general management of the Exchange and may be vested with such further power, functions and authority as may be delegated or entrusted to him by the CEO from time to time. He will be required to represent the Exchange to the SEC, other Government Agencies and Authorities and institutions on behalf of the CEO, if required. The DCEO will work to uphold and increases the image of the Exchange and create the avenues for development.

The Skills
The position requires the following skills:

  • Should have a good understanding of the multiple group-interests/stakeholder issues with ability to work collaboratively with alliance partners and stakeholders having different interests;
  • Ability to evolve issues responsive to government policies and make them adaptable to reflect interests of the stakeholders and the corporate decision makers;
  • Aptitude to inject dynamism for capacity building and develop an appropriate management structure;
  • Be a skillful negotiator to effect a positive outcome and adaptive to the fast –paced environment;
  • Is proficient in presenting technical reports and able to make sound judgments;
  • Ability to develop short term and long term plans of action that establishes objectives, define strategies and set out operational activities that will meet the corporate goals;
  • Be innovative and creative when generating solutions.

The Competencies
Core competence of the position should be:

  • Sound functional knowledge of the capital market issues of Bangladesh
  • Self driven and ability to give timely and well – reasoned decisions
  • Leadership quality to influence and manage change

The Qualifications & Experiences
The ideal candidates should have:

  • Masters in Business Administration / Management / Accounting / Finance / Marketing / Economics and/or PhD in relevant subject from well-reputed Universities or Institutes at home or abroad.
  • Although not essential, hand on experience, ideally in the service driven financial sector is preferred at least 15 years.
  • Age limit is minimum 45 years.
