Floreal Knitwear Ltd is the leading knitwear manufacturer in the African Sub-Saharan Region and is the second largest woolmark knitwear supplier in the world. Its manufacturing units are operating in Mauritius, Madagascar, China, Bangladesh. Currently we are inviting applications for the following position for our Bangladesh operation.

Position: HR & Admin Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Responsible of compensation and benefits administration

  • Ensure effective payroll system
  • Ensure each and every employee is paid correctly, right first time, and there is no overpayment, underpayment or any fraud going on
  • Generate useful reports as and when required
  • Ensure there is a good salary structure

Responsible of industrial relations

  • Ensure all complaints are handled effectively and efficiently, and a propergrievance handling mechanism is in place
  • Ensure there is no strike among employees at any point in time
  • Ensure good relationship is maintained between the factory and different external bodies, namely Ministries, Trade Unions, etc.

Security

  • Ensure factory premises are secure at all times.
  • Records of incoming and outgoing vehicles and visitors to be kept
  • Investigate any suspicious activities and take immediate corrective actions

Transport

  • Effectively manage cost of department and ensure optimization ofavailable resources
  • Manage fleet of vehicles effectively and efficiently, and ensure there is a proper control mechanism in place so that there is no abuse of resources.

Compliance/Health and Safety

  • Ensure factory and all dormitories (if any) are compliant with all requirednorms at all times.
  • Assist auditors in their regular factory social compliance, and ensurefollow up of corrective action plans.
  • Ensure all employees have their personal protective equipmentsaccordingly
  • Ensure inspections of respective materials are carried out in respectivedelays, eg: boilers, air receivers, lifts, forklift, compressors, etc and all licences are up to date.
  • Policy development and documentation

Training and Development

  • Responsible of carrying out Training Needs Analysis in the factory
  • Ensure employees are equipped with the appropriate skills and knowledge to be able to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure appropriate training is delivered to employees.
  • Find out any training refund mechanism that exist in the country, and make optimum use of it.

Recruitment, staffing and Induction

  • Recruitment, interviewing and selection of staff
  • Induction of new recruits
  • Recruitment of expatriates, and ensure that all necessary documents are processed before their arrival

Performance Management and Improvement Systems

  • Ensure a proper performance management system is in place
  • Inculcate a continuous improvement culture in the organization

Work on projects as and when required

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required.
  • Masters in Business or Human Resources Management or a related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 5 to 7 years of progressively more responsible positions in administrative job preferably in a similar industry in two different firms.
    Experience supervising and managing a professional staff.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong effective communicator in writing, business presentations and in interpersonal communication.
  • Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and unusual common sense.
  • Able to direct the efforts of a team of diverse human resources professionals.
  • Expert in employment law and employee relations and communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful and strategic advice and input across the company and on the senior executive team.
  • Ability to lead in an environment of constant change.
  • Experience working in a flexible, employee empowering work environment. Structured or large company experience will not work here.
  • Familiarity and skill with the tools of the trade in human resources including HRIS, Microsoft Office suite of products, file management, and benefits administration.
  • Experience in organization development and change management.
