GTZ invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of a Corporate Communications and Public Relations Assistant for “GTZ Office Dhaka”.
A. Tasks
The candidate shall be responsible for supporting the Corporate Communications and Public Relations Department and will work under the supervision of the department’s officer. The position includes specific communication tasks as well as administrative tasks.
General Tasks
- Quality check for PR and communication material produced by GTZ or its supported projects/programs in accordance with the corporate design guidelines.
- Support the coordination with external communications providers (e.g. agencies, photographers, printers).
- Support the coordination and monitoring of ongoing internal/external communication activities.
- Deal with internal administrative procedures related to the services provided by the Corporate Communication and PR department.
- Keep record of communication materials produced by the department.
- Maintain the information point
- Maintain the pictures data-base
- Support the Corporate Communication and PR department in any other task related to the communications strategy implementation.
B. Required Entry Qualifications and Competencies
Formal Education & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or any related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Basic knowledge of development policy issues.
- Experience working in an international and intercultural context.
General Requirements
Experience in:
- Supervising production of communication material;
- Guiding corporate design issues;
- Dealing with administrative procedures;
- Supporting event management;
- Organizing publications;
- Basic editorial experience.
PR and press Relations Requirements
Experience in:
- Compiling press information packs;
- Maintaining contacts with journalists;
- Handling distribution lists and contact data bases;
- Press monitoring of Bangla media;
- Record in supporting PR and press relations related issues (or equivalent experience).
Internal Communications Requirements
- Experience in supporting internal communications processes (distribution of information within a company/ organization, newsletters, etc.)
Other Qualifications and Competencies
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Bangla. Fluency in German will be an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of graphic design software is an asset
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to successfully navigate a politically sensitive environment
