Deputy Logistician

Affectation: Cox Bazaar district

Duration of the contract: 10 months     

I. Presentation of the organisation

SOLIDARITES is a humanitarian organisation which provides aid and assistance to victims of war and natural disasters. For the past 25 years, the organisation’s vocation has been to meet the three vital needs - drinking, eating and sheltering – of vulnerable populations around the world. Our programs mainly focus on emergency relief actions related to water and sanitation but also related to food security as well as shelter and infrastructure rehabilitation and reconstruction.

II. Responsabilities and duties:

• Be responsible for the respect of the purchase procedure
• Equipment management and follow up
• Warehouse management
• Maintenance of the office and the guest house
• Be aware of the security situation in the area and report all incidents to the Field Coordinator
• Manage the transportation of the team: 1 car and 5 motorbikes and set up planning
• Manage the logistic team : 8 watchmen, 1 purchaser, 1 store keeper, 6 drivers 
• Support the Field Coordinator in any other tasks

III. Requirements :

• This position is a senior staff position, experience of 2 years in logistics is required
• Ability to work in autonomy and to anticipate
• Ability to negotiate with people
• Ability to supervise, manage and take decision
• Honesty and integrity
• Very good computer skills (Word and Excel)
• Written and spoken English is compulsory (weekly reporting)
• Knowledge of the area is appreciated
• Knowledge in electricity and/ or mechanics and/ or masonry appreciated
